AWW! How sweet! I love it when people finally get to work things out rationally. And Matt seems just stubborn enough to make Hope talk it all through.

I LOVE the reference to Monty Python in the first paragraph. I about had a fit laughing so hard!

Awesome job so far on the story. You keep proving time and again why you're one of my favorite fanfiction authors. Keep it up and update soon!!

Author's Response: The Python reference kind of slipped out, and I've just realised that I've forgotten to credit it. It's taken Matthew a huge amount of persistence to get this far with Hope - we can only hope it pays off! Next update Tuesday :)

Wonderful!

Hope is finally on her way to understanding that the changes in her feelings are love for Matthew, although she hasn't dared to attach the word "love" to her emotions yet. I like how they are now determined to remain friends even if the relationsip might fall apart. Breaking through their fears about destroying their friendship was so important.

I loved the accidental magic! The flying quilt broke me up. One thing puzzled me, though. Does Matthew's conical shaped case prevent accidental magic from being detected from a distance? He did know from Cora that Hope was doing a lot of it. Or is the case simply to keep a wizard's hat in?

Perhaps best of all are these words from the last three paragraphs. First: "He was hers. He loved her. He was here."  And then: "His heart beat its steady rhythm lulling her to sleep. He loved her. Her breathing slowly deepened. She was his. Finally his."

Author's Response: No real mystery to the conical case - it's got the pensieve in it. He's brought her memories back. You'll see it at the start of next chapter.

I think the step from friendship was probably the worst - and they're not totally secure about that yet - there's more coming on that topic. Glad you enjoyed it so much, especially the ending - the language was fun to play around with there.

He loves her! I love him!

will she say it soon? hmmm?

do we get more? I hope so. I'd like to see them together when Hope is not so ill and confused.

Author's Response: LOL There's definitely more on the way. There are quite a few loose ends that I think we all need to see tied up. I can't remember how many more chapters there are - 6 or 7, I think.

Yes, this is what I've been waiting for! :D

Good to see that they finally got it out in the open and made up. I like how they're both careful and taking it slowly right now; they've been both hurt a lot and so it makes sense that they start out slow.

Actually, everything hasn't been resolved yet. Hope still has to come clean with several people, including Cora and her parents. The accidental magic thing has not been discussed in depth either (even though it will probably stop now... Or is she going to radiate so much happiness that it's going to affect things around her, too? :) )

I'm looking forward to the next chapters. Things are finally looking up again!

Quizer

Author's Response: I'm sorry. I know I've made you suffer, but at least it was all worth it in the end ;) They've got to take it slowly - in some ways, some of the trust has to be rebuilt - they've both caused a lot of hurt.

Let\s get Hope's mission out of the way and then try and tie up a few of the loose ends. It should be fun when Harry and Ginny see them again!

finally... good job; and please update soon!!!

Author's Response: Next update on Tuesday, and you can see how the two of them get on after Hope wakes up again. :)

Oh, what a nice pile of warm fuzzies to sink into.  So sweet, so simple, so much love between the two of them.

Tee hee.  Raining chocolate frogs.  Good thing Matthew got there in time else who knows what kind of apocalypse Hope might have caused!

Author's Response: ROFL - I've missed my opportunity. Hope Potter and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. It would have made quite a sequel!

Hope's not mentioned the word love ;)

Finally! The tension is lifted and their joking has returned. And they are happy. The next few days should be interesting.

Glad the Slytherins finally got some Gryffindor courage and are about to try to make it work.

Can't wait for more!

Author's Response: More will be on the way on Tuesday. The next few days should be interesting - there are bound to be difficulties ahead. Things are never as simple as all that!

Awww...  That was sweet!  Of course it would take Matt having to corner her after an injury and no sleep or food for several days to finally get her to talk to him!  Talk about one stubborn girl!  Too funny!

I loved the Biblical references to the frogs and killing the first born children.  The continued out-of-control magic fit in very well with what was going on.  The 'talk' was very nice done.  Matt can be very sensitive (brave, too - this is Hope Potter we're talking about) - are you sure he wasn't miss-sorted?

Another delightful installment.  The ending was perfect, too.  A like how they are just simply falling asleep together with plans to enjoy the town.  Very romantic and peaceful.

Author's Response: No, he was definitely sorted right ;) No one other than a Slytherin would have been so obsessively in pursuit of his goal for 11 years!

They've got a lot of sorting out left to do, but at least they've done the initial steps. And so far, they've avoided more random sex! :)

Oh...sigh....

I hope that when she wakes, she doesn't get too scared again and run. Of course, she can't really run because of the assignment, but still, I hope that she takes it a day at a time, and that they can finally start being happy together.

It was a really sweet chapter.  I love Matt. *sigh*

Great as always.  *hugs*

Susan

Author's Response: No, she's not going to run this time. She made a conscious decision with that kiss. Any subsequent freaking out and panics are going to be much more controlled and manageable. Plus if she's sleeping again, she's going to be a lot more in control. Like you say, it's not all over - it's very much one day at a time - there's a lot to adjust to here.

*sigh*  best chapter yet!

Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed it! I've got my favourite part coming up in about 3 chapters time. I don't think we're out of the woods yet, but at least they've made a start now.

*sniffs* Oh, those crazy kids! I loved it, as usual. Thank you!! I chuckled at the accidental magic and teasing, and sighed at the kisses. I'll be reading this one a few more times in the days to come--enjoy your holiday weekend!!

Author's Response: Awww. Glad you liked it. I was worried I'd have to hurt Matthew as well for you ;) I think he had his hands full with Hope. Hope the rereads are as enjoyable as the first time through :)

I'm dying...so great.  I love that Matthew is just willing to have her in his life as a friend.  I know some will think its pathetic but to me that's so sweet.  And I love that Hope is so scarred and vulnerable.  Great job!

Author's Response: It's a huge step for Hope, and at least all of Matthew's patience has paid off. I think it's going to take both of them a while to settle into this after all the upheaval they've been through lately.

Hilarious! I'm so into the Harry and Ginny screentime. How embarrassing for her and so hectic and crazy. Mom Ginny was so good.

Now, Hope, what is your problem? I mean, you are an adult. Act like one.

Author's Response: Ginny's great as a mum. She still flies off the handle about some things, but she's very supportive as well, and really does see the humour in this. I think a lot of that is to do with the fact she genuinely likes Matthew a lot and thnks he'd be good for Hope - if only Hope could fathom that out for herself.

Hope's got a few issues - one of which is being quite scared about what's happening. This is out of her control.

Wow! I just got back from vacation and found all these wonderful chapters to read. I'm so excited, I can barely pause to review.

I had a feeling it was going to happen again, but I am a little bit nervous about the aftermath. I'm rushing on to the next chapter. Thanks!

Author's Response: Welcome back! You've got a few to catch up on and I'm aiming to get chapter 18 posted tomorrow. Hopefully you'll find it fun...

The aftermath's not pretty... *ducks and hides*

Cliffhanger! Ahhhh! I guess that's one way to get her to St. Mungo's and under the care of healer Matt...

Author's Response: I wish! She's in a Muggle village, so it'll be a Muggle hospital and no Matthew! Still, we'll see him again soon ;)

Matthew should be turning up next chapter... please don't say you want HIM to be injured now as well ;)

Oh, goodness, no!! Just Hope is fine *smirks*. While I would love to think that I might have some influence (I can't even get my cat to stay off of the bed!), I think you were already considering a minor mishap, Imogen. ;) I'm looking forward to Hope's experiences with the Muggles--you have such a great sense of humor and that really shines through in your writing!

Oh, and I think the cliffie in A&O (history repeating) wins for worst ever--hands down! yikes...

Author's Response: No - honestly - this injury was your fault. I did need to spread the original chapter out a bit more to leave Hope to stew for a while before Matthew turned up. So that bit was entirely down to you and Alison!

As always, a lovely update, even if it did end in a cliffie. *grin*

This is one of my favorite stories, Imogen.  I love how you've woven Hope and her magic and all the accidentals together.  She is an incredibly powerful witch, who had best learn how to keep her magic under control.

I'm anxious to see what happens next - could Matthew show up at the hospital? Perhaps Cora or Robert or Harry tells him of what happened?

Next update will be when, dear?

*hugs*

Susan

Author's Response: Matthew's definitely going to be cropping up next chapter, although not at the hospital. Hope's going to have to deal with Muggle medicine all on her own, and somehow I don't think she's going to be too impressed by the experience!

Next update either tomorrow or Thursday, depending on how the decorating goes! :) I'm flattered this is making it into one of your favourite stories though.

You can blame JHoll and Alison for it! It's all their fault ;)

*giggles and polishes her halo*

Poor Hope, off to a muggle hospital.  They're scary. *g*

Great chapter, as ever, Imogen.  Hope really needs to get her feelings (or at least her accidental magic) under control, before she gets hurt even more.  Assuming she's not too badly hurt already, but I don't think she is.

Between this and Alphie's outtake, I can't wait until Matthew finally catches up with her.  I suspect it might not be as easy as all that, though - you like torturing us (and Hope and Matthew) too much!

Author's Response: No, the injuries she's managed to get this chapter aren't particularly severe - she's more in a foul temper than anything else. Matthew should be turning up next chapter... please don't say you want HIM to be injured now as well ;)

Loved the reference to Hitch Hikers Guide! Getting hit by a car? A little cliche, but I feel like if anyone can make it work, you can! Can't wait for more.

Author's Response: The car is incredibly minor in the scheme of things, really it is. There's no big drama over it... It was either that or she'd have had to be knocked unconscious by a stunned seagull plummeting from the sky ;)

Oh my lord, an update!  I'm dying of shock!  Just kidding.  This story is definitely worth waiting for.  Thanks for the pictures, they really helped me visualize the chapter.

After reading the last couple chapters and Alphie's outtake I planned (in the event nothing was revealed in this chapter) to start with something along the lines of *caps lock* what happened between Julius and Hope?  Seriously, all this teasing.  They're having issues, but Hope cares enough to stay with him despite the relationship seemingly being only about lust (no emotional intimacy).  Then something happens to end their affair and there is no going back, but they stay/become close friends and she helps him start his business?  I need details.  But then I noticed a thread with the Cornwall pictures that gave me some hints...  But I'm still going a bit nutty here.  Are these questions going to be answered in this fic, or do I need to wait for the upcoming story about their relationship?  I only ask for my own sanity...

Poor Hope, of all the times for all of this to come out it has to be when she is on an important case that could affect her goal to become a full fledged Auror.  At least Kingsley is understanding, but I'm worried there is only so much he can do after the car accident (and the anticipated arrival of Matt, the source of her confusion and anxiety).  This must be terribly frightening for Hope, losing control of herself like this, never knowing what she will melt/set fire to/stun/etc.. next.

Well, it sounds like she is going to see some of that muggle medicine first hand.  I'm looking forward to the next chapter and the return of Mathew.

Author's Response: I can't do the Julius and Hope story in this one. I'd love to write it, I really would, but the idea's not mine and neither is the fic. In some ways I suppose their relationship did develop beyond the pure physical - the fact it lasted for so long is genuinely remarkable for Flint, so there must have been *something* there, even if that something wasn't love. I think the physical side of things became habit, whilst the friendship side of things developed. I'll email you...

Hope's barely in control of anything at this point. I dread to think how irrational she's going to be when Matthew finally catches up with her.
