Hey, I just left this really cross review at FF.net, complaining about the lack of new chapters, but now I see this and I am so happy. I liked that chapter. Luckily there isn't an evil cliffhanger like the last chapter and I don't think I'll lose any sleep over it. wink.gif Well, can't wait for chapter 9! *bows to Imogen for being incredible writer*

Long time reader, first time reviewer. Sorry!

Thus is such a wonderful story. Well, all your stories are great, but I'm particularly partial to this one because the characters and the story line are so much more your own. Hope is great. How can you not love a character with all the best features of Harry, Ginny, the twins and (how shall we put this) someone else?!? I'm still laughing from her previous antics and the McGonagall-in-leather/Snape-in-lace scene!

As for chapter 8, it seems a turning point has been reached. I'm going to miss the trying-to-get-expelled Hope, but what's ahead should be even more interesting. That one point that wasn't resolved in Hope's discussion with dad is a rather big one!

Great job as always!

Loved the chapter. Hope is SUCH a character, she's great. I also really liked seeing the more mature Harry and Ginny, I like the way you portray them.

And Harry giving the Map to Hope? Exactly the sort of thing he'd do, if you ask me. I can't wait to see what uses she'll put it to...

Wow. That was really touching, Imogen! I really wanted to cry when Harry told Hope about how he'll always love her, even if she's in Slytherin. And the note he sent her at the end of the chapter made me feel warm and fuzzy inside! Yay!

I think that if my child decided to switch common rooms, turn her teachers into cross-dressers and the like, and many other of the things that Hope did, I would be slightly more angry at her then Harry and Ginny were.

But, I can see how they would be more understanding.

*shrug*

Fabulous job, really! I really like this story. I've read the outtake five billion times by now. I hope the new chapter of Home is just as good!

Another great chapter! A howler for the Sorting Hat... that's a new one for me. I can't wait for chapter 9 to come out.

Imogen! Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting chapter 8!! I have been dying for an update!!
Wonderful chapter!! I really enjoyed it! I followed your stories but had never reviewed, as I was still pretty new, and was still figuring things out. I have loved all your stories involving Harry/Ginny/Hope. This was an enjoyable chapter. Loved how Harry handled it...Can't wait for Ch. 9 (shameless plug?!?)

When did Harry turn into my Dad?
AWWWWWW!

I knew they'd be good about it. Snape was a git to begin with, but he does care about his students... in his own way.

The talk between Harry and Hope... it's the way my dad and I are, and I just loved it. I'm glad Hope finally figured out what she liked about Hogwarts - and she is very much Harry's daughter (not telling him about having the map in her head).

Thanks, Imogen! Just wonderful.

I've got to say a big thank you for all the reviews. It was a bit scary posting without a sort of safety net to reassure me, but I'm feeling a lot better about it now. Thanks for taking the time to let me know what you thought.

Harry's just a wonderful dad, but I reckoned it's something he'd make a lot of effort at to get exactly right. After all, his own childhood was pretty miserable and there's no way that he'd ever want Hope to go through something like that. It's good to see Hope a bit happier and it means we can actually get on with the REAL plot of the story. It should be quite a ride!

Thanks again for the reviews - they mean a lot.

yay! This thing is very worthy of several snoopy dances of which I am currently doing. I love this chapter!

Harry was portrayed so well as a father and as a confidante to Hope and that bit about Ginny's lip making one line like Granny's got a nice chuckle out of me. I can just picture it.

Snape was really irritating the heck out of me at the beginning of the story. Which is kudos to do you considering it was the same amount of irritation Rowling's Snape gives me. But at the end I felt so much better for Hope. I know exactly how she feels, being miserable in some place and I'm glad she found something to help her.

worth the wait?
of course it was, a really great chapter with some real stand out bits

QUOTE “I’m very sorry for all the pink feathers, Professor. I really meant to turn you into a whole flamingo and I don’t know where the satin negligee came from,” Hope confessed.
Her father choked and coughed violently for a few moments, turning puce as he struggled to control himself. He got up and paced to the towering bookshelves at one end of the dungeon, his shoulders shaking violently as he stared at the glittering golden titles on the spines and heaved in deep breaths.
Finally he turned back to the rest of the room.
“That was very wrong, Hope!” His face was stern but his voice warbled. “You should have known better.”

'nuff said *laugh*

QUOTE We thought we might have made things more difficult than they needed to be for you. Granny was furious when your letter arrived and we saw that the Sorting Hat had upset you so much, so she sent it a Howler.”
“A Howler?” Hope choked back a giggle.
“A really good one,” her father chuckled. “An amazingly loud rant about how dare it traumatise her granddaughter like that and it had better be careful the next time she was at Hogwarts because she’d hunt it down, unpick its seams and it could see how much sorting it could do then. By the time she’d finished, it wouldn’t be the Sorting Hat any more, it’d be the Sorting Cloth!

That's what I like to see, a nice calm and collected response from Molly

QUOTE “For goodness sakes, don’t tell your mother I’ve given you this,” her dad chuckled, “but I really think that if you’re going to be doing something you shouldn’t be doing, not that you would ever dream of doing something like that, but if you were, then you should be prepared.

A nice bit of father/daughter conspiring there, as has already been noted Harry is a very cool dad

Lovely, simply lovely.

Hope should have a bit more insight, rather than just doing a quick about face.

I'd pay a Galleon to hear what Harry said to Severus, though.

Simply fabulous. I especially love the tie in to Harry's sorting and how he was almost in Slytherin. Harry is truly a remarkable father considering his past. And kudos to my hero Mrs. Weasley, may have to ask her what was in that Howler.

Thanks for the update. In awe of how you find the time!

I concurr -- brilliant work. I really enjoyed Hope's honesty with Harry, and I second the humor of Molly and the howler!

I'm anxious to find out what's going on with Ginny and the new baby. Why is this causing her so much trouble? (Hmm, maybe I'll have to "ask the character" on the other board . . .)

Thanks for the update -- looking forward to reading the next chapter of Home soon!

Allow me to pick my jaw up off the floor first. Wow, that was a remarkable chapter. Only Molly Weasley would think to send a Howler to the Sorting Hat! I liked it, a LOT! Thank you for writting it.

Alright!, fantastic and it ties perfectly with "Someday my prince.." Hope's discussion with Harry really brings home to her how she's tearing herself up for no reason and that what is really important is who's inside the robes, not what's on them.

There is but one thing to say on this matter. CONGRAGULATIONS! You've proven yourself a worth successor to the Weasley twins!

However, I must inform you that given the number students currently in the Hopital Wing getting their hearts restarted, 50 points from Gryffindor!
